Yemoja 2

In Yemoja 2, King Babajide, once a broken man saved from suicide by the water spirit Adun, enjoys a restored life of wealth and power under her protection. Unable to bear children herself, Adun consents to his marriage to three new queens—Folasayo, Torera, and Adaralewa—but warns him that greed will unravel everything. The younger wives grow jealous of Adun’s favored status and the strict palace rules, particularly the ban on fish, and secretly plot to exploit her mystical vulnerability by contaminating her food. The queens’ sabotage takes hold: water pours from Adun’s body, and in the chaos, Babajide performs a desperate river ceremony. Babajide’s hunger for more drives him to demand immortality and mastery over day and night, a request Adun reluctantly grants. Adun tells him that she would get a daughter of the river that would bear children for him. Adun gets Adara who agrees to be Babajide's second wife. One night all three of them go to bed together but Babajide awakens in the rundown home of his old friends, disoriented and wearing his former poor clothes, while the palace mourns him as dead after finding his bed soaked. Staggering outside, he confronts Adun, who reveals that his unchecked greed has stripped away every blessing, returning him to the very despair that once led him to the river’s edge. She reminds him that their pact always demanded a death, and now he must honor it or be consumed by fish. Stripped of his kingship and power, Babajide walks to the river, steps onto a rock, and plunges into the water, swimming away into the depths as the underwater world reclaims him.
