EARLY LIFE

Seun Kentebe (full name William Oluwaseun Omobolanle Adebayo Amatare Edwin-Kentebe) hails from Adagbabiri in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. His father was the late Commodore E.O. Kentebe and his mother, Mrs. J.O. Kentebe, is from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. He is the first child of his mother’s three children and the ninth of his father’s thirteen children. He was raised in Lagos by his mother (a widow) alongside two siblings. He attended primary and secondary school in Lagos and earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos. As a child he was shy. His first acting experience came in primary school when he was randomly selected to play the Judge in the play The Incorruptible Judge. He initially aspired to become an architect but struggled with Physics. During university he focused on becoming a rapper and also trained in Shotokan Karate (reaching orange belt).

CAREER

Seun Kentebe is a Nigerian actor, writer, voice-over artist, content creator, and former rapper/musician with a steady career spanning stage, film, television, and radio. He began in theatre with Cypress Associates (under Kayode Peters and Abiola Aloba), starting as a stage manager before stepping into acting roles. Early screen work included the TV sitcom Twilight Zone (around 2002) and stage productions such as Double Jeopardy. He has accumulated extensive credits: dozens of films, multiple television series, over 40 plays, radio drama, and commercials. Some of his notable works include: 93 Days (2016) – the Ebola-themed epic Jimi Bendel (2016) as Corporal Chuks La Femme Anjola (2021) as Osayande Osunde Leaked (2022) as Father Juju Stories (2022) as Laolu BODMAS (2022) Knots That Bind (2023) Family Gbese (2024) as Inspector Uchenna A Danfo Christmas (2024) as Akin The Wives (2025) as Pastor Jude The Yard (2025 TV series) as Oga Charlie (extensive episodes) Other recent credits: Deeper, Convictions, Isekonu, 3 Working Days, Unknown Soja, and more He has also written for projects including Sisi Eko (contributing writer) and earlier radio/TV drama. Awards and recognition include Best Actor at Nollywood Reinvented Awards (2014), Best Lead Actor at Real Time International Film Festival (2017), and Best Actor of the Year at MSAA (2018). He is known for naturalistic, believable performances and a diligent, low-key approach focused on craft rather than constant spotlight.

PERSONAL LIFE

Seun Kentebe is married. He met his wife around 2003 at a studio while pursuing music-related work; they became friends, had an on-and-off relationship, began dating officially in 2011, and he proposed in 2012. They married in 2014. He has spoken about the lessons of marriage, including tolerance, prudence, and selflessness, noting that it involves one’s partner and children. He describes himself as an ambivert who enjoys alone time, traveling, reading, and making friends. He is Christian.

Seun Kentebe continues a sure and steady career across stage and screen, balancing acting with writing, voice work, and content creation. He has spoken about the need for better funding, training, and authentic African storytelling in Nollywood, and remains available for new projects.
