EARLY LIFE
Sebastian Ukwa was born on July 19, 1994, in Lagos, Nigeria. His hometown is Ezza in Ebonyi State. He developed a passion for authentic storytelling that reflects real human experiences and social issues. He pursued formal training in theatre and film at the University of Calabar, where he honed his skills in writing, directing, and production.
CAREER
Sebastian Ukwa has over five years of professional experience as a filmmaker. He is the founder of Breadfruit Studios and is recognized for his work in both short films and feature films, with a strong focus on social impact and human-centered narratives. His key works include, Director, Writer of Oxymoron (2020, short student film), Director, Writer of Tales of the Browbeaten (2022, short film), Director of Rancour (2018, short student film), Director of A Father's Love (2024, feature film). He has also worked as a cinematographer, video editor, and colorist.
