EARLY LIFE

Afeez Owo, whose full name is Afeez Abiodun (also known as Afeez Olayiwola Abiodun or popularly Afeez Owo), was born on August 12, 1971, in Lagos, Nigeria. He hails from Iseyin in Oyo State and spent part of his formative years in the Idiroko area of Ogun State before the family moved within Oyo State. Growing up in a modest family environment in Lagos, he attended St. Paul Primary School and St. Paul Grammar School in the Mushin area of Lagos for his primary and secondary education. From a young age, Afeez showed an interest in creative pursuits, though he initially pursued a more conventional path by studying Business Administration. He later obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin. This educational background in business later proved useful in managing his career and production ventures. His early exposure to Lagos's vibrant cultural scene, combined with his Yoruba roots, laid the foundation for his deep involvement in the Yoruba film industry (Nollywood's Yoruba sector). PERSONAL LIFE

Afeez Owo is married to fellow actress Mide Martins (full name Olamide Martins Abiodun), whom he met on a movie set. The couple began dating shortly after and tied the knot in 2013. Their union is often celebrated as a power couple in Nollywood, with both supporting each other's careers. They have two children together—a boy and a girl. Mide Martins is the daughter of the late Yoruba actress Funmi Martins, who passed away in 2002. Afeez maintains a relatively private personal life but occasionally shares glimpses of family moments and his faith.
