Biography
Alex Usifo Omiagbo born in Lagos, Nigeria is a veteran Nigerian actor. Son of Barnabas and Patricia Anobi Omiagbo, he began his career in 1984 with "The Return of the Native." He gained fame as Talaab Abass in "Ripples" (1988).Notable roles include "Silent Night" (1996), "End of the Wicked" (1999), "Enakhe" (2020), and "The Black Book" (2023). Usifo has won awards like Best Actor (RLG Ghana Movie Awards, 2012) and Lifetime Achievement.
EARLY LIFE
Alex Usifo Omiagbo was born in Lagos on April 16, 1953, to Mr. Barnabas and Mrs. Patricia Anobi Omiagbo. His father worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria. He had his primary education in Ibadan and completed secondary education at St. John Bosco's Grammar School, Ubiaja, Edo State. He worked at NTA Benin and covered FESTAC '77. He gained admission into SS Peter and Paul Major Seminary in 1978 but left in 1981 to study mass communication at the University of Lagos.
CAREER
His acting career began in 1984 with the tele-movie 'The Return of the Native'. He took lead roles in 'Natas' and 'Two People' and appeared in NTA productions like 'Echoes of Life' and 'Turning Wheel' between 1984 and 1987. His breakthrough came in 1988 as Talaab Abass in Zeb Ejiro's soap opera 'Ripples'. He also participated in stage plays ('Awero', 'Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again!'), radio plays, and photo plays. In the late 80s/early 90s, he started a modeling agency, Silver and Gold Productions. He holds a degree in English from Ambrose-Ali University, a Master's degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and a PhD in Information Resources Management from Babcock University. He is a member of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Directors' Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and Association of Movie Producers (AMP). Notable roles include 'Silent Night' (1996), 'End of the Wicked' (1999), 'Enakhe' (2020), and 'The Black Book' (2023).
PERSONAL LIFE
Alex Usifo married Princess Usifo on November 27, 1993, and they have four children: Sarah, Isaac, David, and Osedebame. Despite playing numerous occultic roles, he is a strong believer and minister of the gospel.
