Biography

EARLY LIFE

Emeka Nwagbaraocha was born on 28 October 1999 in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, and grew up there. He developed an early interest in performance, participating in school drama clubs and writing imaginative plays from a young age. He was involved in drama and debate activities during secondary school (including plays such as The Incorruptible Judge) and continued performing in university fellowship drama groups. He studied Accounting at Abia State University, Uturu, graduating with a B.Sc. While pursuing his degree he continued nurturing his creative side. He has credited regular exposure to films at home and family support for shaping his love of storytelling. After university, before NYSC, he began exploring acting more seriously as a practical creative path.

CAREER

Emeka began his professional acting career around 2017–2018. Early credits include the lead role of Tunji (or T.J.) in the comedy film Kasala! (2018) and the lead role of Deji in EbonyLife TV’s Life 101. He also appeared in MTV Shuga Naija, African Beauty, For My Girls (as Ichie), Zena (as Nazrin), Wallflower, and other projects. His breakthrough came with the role of Frank in the Netflix series Far From Home (2022) and as Sango in Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story (2020). Other notable film and television credits include Prophetess, Passport (as Tobee), Head Over Bills, Eyimofe: This Is My Desire (as Akin), The House of Secrets (as Daniel), I Do Not Come to You by Chance, Finding Me (as Ifeanyi), Summer Rain, The Herd, Schooled (as Chukie), and more recent or upcoming titles such as Sweet 16 and Wire Wire (2026). In addition to acting, he works as a scriptwriter and creates digital comedy and lifestyle content. He is recognised for versatility across comedy and dramatic roles and for his thoughtful approach to character work. He continues to take on both lead and supporting parts in Nollywood features and series while building his presence as a multi-hyphenate creative.
