Yours Regardless

After two years in the United States, Luchi returns to Nigeria, and his friend Maxwell picks him up. He goes home to his mother, Mrs. George, and his girlfriend Ada, who has been waiting for him. Flashbacks show that he had a close relationship with Torera before he left, but he avoided committing to her. Mrs. George decides it is time for Luchi to marry Ada and plans a celebration on his late father's birthday. Luchi meets Torera again at a jazz club, where she is preparing a benefit show for her sick sister, Tommy. He begins helping with the lighting and design, though Maxwell warns him that Torera is not comfortable with his help. Ada notices his distance and complains to her mother, so Mrs. George announces that the proposal will become an official engagement ceremony, and Luchi reluctantly accepts. A vendor cancels, and Torera reveals she needs eight million naira for Tommy's surgery, which adds pressure. On the day of the engagement, Luchi stops the ceremony in front of his mother and Ada, declaring that he loves Torera and cannot marry Ada. His mother is furious, and Ada is devastated. Torera learns of the engagement from Maxwell and is hurt because Luchi kissed her while engaged. Luchi tracks Torera down at night, confesses that he chooses her, and asks for another chance. Torera accepts his apology, and they reconcile. Months later, Tommy's surgery has been successful, and Mrs. George begins to accept Luchi's choice. At a celebration by the water, Maxwell proposes to Tommy, and the group rejoices. Luchi and Torera stand together as a couple.
