EARLY LIFE

Michael Onome Ejoor was born and raised in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. As a child, he felt isolated and struggled with low self-esteem. He initially studied science in secondary school because he wanted to feel smart and dreamed of becoming a paediatrician. He later switched paths during university.

CAREER

Michael Ejoor started with singing and stage musicals as a teenager. In 2016, during a difficult period (job loss, heartbreak, and his mother’s kidney disease), his friend Tim Godfrey invited him to act in the theatre production Iwuro. This experience rekindled his love for acting. He auditioned for Tinsel and began landing roles consistently. Notable works include, To Kill a Monkey (Netflix), Unbroken (2018), he Photographer, Ashabi’s Child. Other productions like roles with veterans such as Stella Damasus, Bimbo Akintola, and more. He brings business knowledge from his education into his acting career, helping him market himself strategically. He is praised for emotional depth and versatility.

PERSONAL LIFE

Michael Ejoor has been open about his mental health struggles. He was diagnosed with clinical depression about 14 years ago and attempted suicide multiple times, including one incident where he walked in front of a moving car in the UK. He has spoken about feeling unloved as a child and battling hopelessness. Acting and faith helped him overcome these challenges. He shares a very close bond with his father, whom he now calls his best friend. He is a Christian and values family, kindness, and leading with love.

Michael Ejoor is recognized as a thoughtful and prepared actor who overcame depression through acting. He hopes to play a deaf character (he knows sign language) and explore horror genres in the future. He is known for his humility, professionalism, and commitment to authentic storytelling. He remains active in Nollywood with growing international recognition.
