Orezi suggests Nosa drop her at his apartment instead of her own residence and they leave together. At his apartment they kiss share wine and move to the bedroom. Later that night police arrive at Nosa's door arrest him for rape and read him his rights. Detectives Mike and Inspector Amaka interrogate Nosa who insists the encounter was consensual and initiated by Orezi. The detectives interview colleagues who describe the pair as overly friendly and possibly secretly dating. Flashbacks reveal Nosa's growing attraction and advice from colleague Ike to wait until Orezi's service year ends as well as a moment where Nosa distances himself per company policy. Forensic results show a DNA match but no trauma bruising or signs of struggle while toxicology indicates low alcohol and no drugs. The detectives debate the evidence as Mike sees consensual sex and Amaka argues consent can be withdrawn and introduces tonic immobility as a freeze response leaving no physical evidence. Orezi gives a harrowing statement describing her attraction to Nosa their many previous kisses and her initial willingness to have sex that night. She says that in the bedroom she said no repeatedly froze and begged him to stop but he continued. Afterward Nosa fell asleep while she cried showing no remorse so she left and reported the rape. Confronted with her account Nosa insists he heard no but thought it was not a scream dismissing it as typical female indecision. The interviewer counters that even a whisper means no.
