Chiamaka Uzokwe

CAREER

Chiamaka Uzokwe was born on 3 October 2000 in Lagos, Nigeria. She is of Igbo heritage, from Oguta in Imo State (her father is from Imo State and her mother from Anambra State). She comes from a family of six (two parents and four children: one sister and two brothers). She attended Pampers Private School for primary education and Rainbow College for secondary school. She studied at the University of Lagos and later attended the Nigerian Law School in Lagos, where she was called to the Nigerian Bar. Growing up, she was often described as dramatic, with people suggesting careers in acting, pastoring, or law. Her father (also a lawyer) encouraged her to pursue a degree first before fully committing to acting.

CAREER

Uzokwe’s acting journey began in her first year of university with a church stage play. She discovered her talent for performance and later landed her debut film role through an Instagram monologue challenge on ROKtv, where she played the lead. A major breakthrough came with Biodun Stephen’s Sista (2022), in which she played Anu; the role led to increased opportunities. Other credits include: Eva’s Love Story (2022) – Eva My Name is Zozo (TV series, 2024) – Annie Makemation (2025) – Belema / Belma The Party (2025 TV series) – Tinuade She has received recognition including a Best Supporting Actress accolade related to her work. She has expressed interest in action roles that showcase her athletic background (football, basketball, gymnastics) and collaborations with directors/producers such as Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, Ruth Kadiri, Kunle Afolayan, and Kemi Adetiba. She avoids intimate/nude scenes as a personal and professional boundary.

PERSONAL LIFE

Uzokwe is currently in a loving relationship (as stated in a January 2026 interview) and has expressed values around partnership, faith, support, ambition, and mutual understanding. She has spoken about the importance of personal convictions, including avoiding roles involving nudity or explicit intimacy regardless of pay, citing her professional image as a lawyer and businesswoman, as well as considerations for her future family. She balances acting with legal volunteer work (counseling indigent women and children through FIDA) and entrepreneurship. She has noted that time and some friendships have been sacrifices in juggling her multiple careers.

Beyond acting and law, Uzokwe is an entrepreneur. She founded Beauce & Sassy around age 20 as a crafting supply business providing semi-raw materials (many made in Nigeria) for cosmetics, candles, gypsum, and related products. It operates in Nigeria and Ghana, with presence in Canada, and aims to support local manufacturing and reduce import dependence. She has approximately 11–12 staff and is open to investors/partners. She also runs Duloora (a luxury lip gloss line) and Dextor App (an e-learning and marketplace platform focused on business, crafts, and handiwork training). She describes her work as empowering women and creators to “be everything you dream of.”
