Esther Ayopo

Esther Ayopo is a prominent Nollywood costume designer, wardrobe manager, and occasional actress based in Lagos, Nigeria. She is widely recognized for her extensive behind-the-scenes contributions to the Nigerian film industry, particularly through her frequent collaborations with renowned director Biodun Stephen and the production company Shutter Speed Projects. Ayopo studied Mass Media at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Over the years, she has built a robust filmography handling costumes and wardrobe departments for major cinema releases, TV series, and streaming features. Her core expertise lies in styling characters and managing set wardrobes to align with directorial visions. She has managed wardrobe and costume design for a wide array of popular films and television projects like Breaded Life (2021), Hotel Labamba (2023), Momiwa (2024), Where Love Lives (2025), Living with Baami (2021) and Omo Momizs (2023). While primarily working behind the camera, Ayopo has taken on small on-screen acting roles in select projects, including Introducing the Kujus (2020) as a Garri Seller and Asife (2016) as Busayo.
