Hold My Hands

Jason stages an elaborate public proposal for Flora, a law student who insists she came only for a sleepover and is not ready for marriage, and he slips the ring onto her finger despite her protests while hidden cameras roll and friends celebrate. The ambush leaves her shaken. At home they argue fiercely until Jason admits he feared losing her to other suitors on campus and she reaffirms her commitment by tattooing his name on her chest as permanent assurance. Their intimacy is intercut with lighthearted moments shopping for whiskey and bantering about Korean dramas, establishing a deep but volatile bond. That bond frays when Jason's childhood friend Charles returns from Houston and moves in for a three-month leave. Flora voices her discomfort with the lost privacy. Charles' presence coincides with Flora being robbed at gunpoint of her school fees, harassed and later attacked by men Charles secretly hired to manufacture a rescue scenario while simultaneously a corporate power struggle erupts as Jason moves to buy out Charles' shares in Jason Enterprise citing financial misappropriation. Charles' obsession with Flora surfaces when he attempts a birthday gift she rejects, and the tension culminates in a violent hallway confrontation where Charles calls the police and has Jason arrested for attempted murder. A time jump reveals Jason and Flora now married and playfully debating how many children to have during a picnic in a forest park. Their idyllic moment shatters when Charles emerges from the trees brandishing a handgun and ignores their pleas before declaring that if he cannot have her then nobody will and shooting Flora at point-blank range. Jason cradles her bleeding body screaming Charles' name as a montage of their romantic memories flashes across the screen while the shooter stands detached watching the devastation he caused.
