Daberechi works as a security guard for a wealthy businessman known as Chief. Her boyfriend Tunde spends his days placing sports bets and living off her earnings. After a fierce argument about his gambling and her shrinking savings, Daberechi uses her position to arrange a driver interview for Tunde at Chief's estate, insisting they pretend not to know each other. Tunde impresses Chief with a first-class computer engineering degree and lands the position at two hundred thousand naira a month, quickly making himself indispensable in the household. When Chief's daughter Yolanda returns from the United States, Tunde shifts his attention to her, pursuing a whirlwind courtship that ends in a marriage proposal within weeks. He breaks off his relationship with Daberechi by handing her an envelope of cash as severance, and she accepts it, wounded but silent. Chief discovers Tunde has withdrawn twenty million naira from the company accounts without justification. When confronted, Tunde responds with entitlement rather than remorse, and the argument triggers a severe health crisis that leaves Chief bedridden. Yolanda, now Tunde's wife, moves to restrict his financial access and devotes herself to her father's care. Cornered and desperate, Tunde approaches Daberechi with a plan to poison Chief, hoping to accelerate his inheritance. Daberechi agrees to the plot, but Yolanda intercepts their incriminating messages and confronts both conspirators in an explosive hallway showdown.
