Area Girl

Michael ends a heated relationship with Linda after she discovers another woman in his home. Shortly after he accidentally hits a young woman named Ife with his car and she lands in hospital with a bandaged leg and complaints of full body pain. The doctor finds only bruises and prescribes rest but Ife reveals she is an orphan with no siblings or living relatives and no friends to care for her. Feeling responsible Michael invites her to stay at his spacious well furnished house until she recovers. She accepts and marvels at the luxury of what he calls his humble abode and playfully claims the center of the large guest bed. As Ife recuperates her Area Girl personality clashes with and charms Michael's polished world. She mocks his inability to cook and bonds with his chef Frank over local cuisine like banga soup. She drags him to a rowdy local bar to experience the other side of life where they down spicy pepper soup and neat ogogoro. Their banter deepens into flirtation and a night of heavy drinking ends with Michael drunk and tender calling it the best night ever as Ife cares for him. The next morning they share a charged intimate moment in the kitchen hinting at genuine feelings beneath the cultural comedy. The dynamic shatters when Michael returns home early and overhears Ife on the phone with a man called Acid negotiating the return of a stolen ring and exposing their plot to rob him. Confronted Ife admits the accident was a setup and her injuries were faked. Devastated Michael orders her out rejecting her desperate confession of love. As she kneels pleading on the pavement Acid and his armed crew abduct her at knifepoint. Michael tracks the phone he gave her and races to an unfinished construction site where he single handedly engages Acid in a brutal chokehold to rescue her defying the gang's threats.
