The Last Paycheck

The film opens with Isha confronting a young man named Paul as he attempts to steal a laptop from a car, forcing him to unlock the vehicle and warning him against future theft. The narrative then shifts to two households under financial strain. Chegun micromanages the grocery budget and argues with his wife Mirabel over every expense. At the supermarket, Zaram, Bimbo, and Stephen have not been paid for seven months. Their boss calls them wonderful staff but dismisses their demands and hands them a paltry 4,700 naira. Meanwhile neighbor Beams shares a warm exchange with a man who helped secure her plants, hinting at a supportive community during the pressure. Desperate to survive, Zaram and Bimbo discover their boss has been secretly selling high-end Labubu collectibles at massive markups. Using an AI tool nicknamed Bubbles they devise a FOMO-driven marketing strategy and successfully move 750 units, generating huge profits for the boss while their salaries remain unpaid. When the boss announces a lavish masked party at his home the women see an opportunity. They recruit Abosede, a resourceful friend with lock-picking skills, and undergo self-defense training from their neighbor Norman. The plan is precise: attend the party, locate the boss's safe, and retrieve only the exact amounts owed — eight months of back pay plus the promised 3.5 percent commission on Labubu sales. The three women infiltrate the upstairs rooms in masks and formal wear. Their search is complicated when they cannot find the safe in the master bedroom. A chaotic encounter ensues with the boss's wife, who has staged a fake robbery in her walk-in closet, screaming thief and throwing her own belongings around to distract her husband. The boss panics, obsessing over his missing cash and storming out. In the confusion the women locate the hidden cache of dollars in the closet, guided by the wife's own revelation that only she and the boss have the key.
