Brotherly Love

Tobe Okoro drives to his late father's villa with his wife Teni for the will reading. They meet the family lawyer, called Barrister, and Tobe's estranged mother Elizabeth. Tension rises when Tobe's half-brother Jidenna arrives flamboyantly and mocks everyone. Barrister reads Chief Donatus's will: personal assets go to Elizabeth while Okoro Enterprises passes to both sons as co-CEOs. A supplementary letter reveals the company faces bankruptcy from unpaid loans and the brothers must revive it or hand control to their uncle Festus. Elizabeth vehemently opposes Festus's involvement. The reading halts when Ifeanyi, a cousin, produces an old agreement between Chief Donatus and his brother claiming the company now belongs to him. Barrister confirms the agreement binds the heirs because Chief Donatus never revoked it. Ifeanyi declares himself CEO and demotes the brothers to Executive Assistants. Jidenna and Tobe unite against the takeover despite their constant bickering. Tobe, desperate to save the company and pay staff salaries, secretly borrows forty million naira from Chike, a menacing drug dealer and old acquaintance, without telling Jidenna. He uses the money to settle the bank debt and pay outstanding salaries, earning temporary praise. Chike demands repayment within seven days and threatens violence against Tobe's wife Teni. Meanwhile Jidenna discovers Ifeanyi holds two different death certificates for their father, exposing fraud. Confronted, Ifeanyi flees Lagos. Elizabeth then reveals a long-held secret: Tobe is the product of an affair between Chief Donatus and her best friend, explaining her decades of hostility toward him. She apologizes and the brothers reconcile, acknowledging their bond. With Ifeanyi gone the brothers face Chike's imminent deadline and cannot raise forty million naira in time. Elizabeth steps in and offers to sell valuable original paintings she inherited from Chief Donatus to cover the debt.
