Mind Games

Tega, a driven tech entrepreneur building his company Masek, meets a mysterious investor at Cabana Lounge who reveals herself as Cecilia, his former lover from their struggling days in Surulere seven years earlier. Cecilia offers double the investment he sought but admits she orchestrated the meeting to see if he would appear, noting that his wife Tiwa called him three times in ten minutes. Their history resurfaces. Cecilia discloses she kept his scarf and that she has a six-year-old son JD from their relationship. Tiwa has endured five years of infertility treatments alone, and Tega avoided medical tests and prioritized Masek. His business partner Derek urges him to sell the company for three hundred million dollars, a move Tega rejects as betrayal of his legacy. Pressure mounts when Tiwa, advised by her friend Tayo to live rather than wait, confronts Tega about his whereabouts on Thursday evening and he admits to cheating. At their anniversary party Cecilia appears publicly, spills wine on Tiwa, and announces the existence of their son, a revelation that upends the marriage. Tega leaves the party and never returns. His car is later found near Lambasa beach with a body inside, launching a homicide investigation that questions Tiwa, Cecilia, Tega's personal assistant Lara, and therapist Dr. Shola. Tiwa's grief drives her to rage captured on video where she threatens Tega, footage Cecilia later provides to police. The legal stakes sharpen during the will reading because Tega died intestate so under Nigerian law his estate automatically passes to Tiwa as surviving spouse unless children from the marriage exist, and Cecilia asserts her son T.D. Jaden is Tega's, demanding paternity establishment and a revised will. Flashbacks reveal Tega had agreed to update his will for his son before his death, but Tiwa discovered the child's existence at the party. A conspiracy surfaces between Cecilia and a man named Jide to manipulate Tega…
