Everything Is Greener

Amara, a photographer, aches for intimacy from her husband Dave, whose schedule keeps him away for weeks, and Dave dismisses her needs, burying himself in work, leaving her lonely. Sade, a businesswoman, clashes with her husband KJ over his unemployment and their timelines for children, and she refuses to pause her career as he feels his biological clock. The wives mask their marital decay with laughter during girls’ nights, and KJ accepts a part‑time job. Amara hires KJ for a shoot that ignites an affair while Sade and Dave cross a line. The betrayal erupts when Sade confronts Amara in her studio, accuses her of sleeping with KJ, and reveals she has also slept with Dave, triggering a brawl between the two men. The marriages collapse in parallel cruelty as Amara and Dave argue, waking Mercedes, and Amara demands Dave leave their home. Dave refuses and weaponizes their image to pressure her into reconciliation, admitting he stays married to avoid scandal. Amara declares she has fallen out of love, and Sade and KJ fight. She mocks his earnings and he condemns her materialism, and their intimacy becomes transactional, condoms and contempt. Sade discovers she is pregnant, panicking over paternity and motherhood, and Amara soothes her tearfully. A truce forms as they stand in Amara's studio and dissect the betrayal. Sade admits she gaslit Amara about Dave's distance while sleeping with him, and Amara acknowledges her complicity. Sade apologizes, but Amara cannot yet forgive and only acknowledges healing one day at a time. Dave returns to apologize, but Amara rejects his remorse and arranges only Friday visits with Mercedes. The final frame shows the two women, once best friends, now bound by shared wreckage, standing in the quiet aftermath, redemption lingering but unclaimed.
