EARLY LIFE

Her early career began as an intern for award-winning director Alex Mouth at Africa Magic Original Films (AMOF).

CAREER

Esther Abah is a Nigerian-born African visual director with nine years of experience in Nollywood and music videos. Esther Abah began her career as a director with the Iroko tv production You, Me, and the Guys, and has since directed over eight television films for Africa Magic showcase and Urban. In 2019, her most recent visual work, Obioma, was selected and nominated for awards at the Lake International PanAfrican Film Festival in Kenya and the African Film Awards in London. Her most recent film effort as an assistant director, Two Weeks in Lagos, was released in 2020 and is presently available on Netflix. She took a break in film to pursue her new interest in music videos… She directed music videos that gained airplay on different stations like MtvBase, Trace tv, Hip TV, Soundcity, etcetera.

PERSONAL LIFE

She enrolled in the fifth intake of the Ebonylife Creative Academy, where she discovered her voice as a storyteller and realized her passion for film… She is interested in conveying African stories, especially those that challenge conventional norms.
