In Unwritten Vows Chief Amadi enforces rigid roles and his wife Nkeiru hides a dream of becoming a chef. Their eldest son Tim pressures his ambitious wife Camila to quit her job and focus on childbearing. Younger son Danny pursues photography despite his father's contempt. Nkeiru starts a secret Instagram cooking page with the help of house help Nnenna and finds unexpected joy and income. Danny uses social media to promote the family business and lands Biscon Transportation, boosting sales fifty percent. Chief acknowledges Danny's value but stays hostile to Nkeiru's online venture and erupts when he finds her getting a manicure instead of welcoming him. Tim caught between filial obedience and marital guilt initially enforces his father's decree that Camila resign. A raw confrontation with his mother who reveals decades of humiliation and infidelity makes Tim begin to crack. The patriarch offers a halting apology to the entire family asking forgiveness for his hardness. The table erupts in toasts to a rejuvenated family. Finally Nkeiru's cooking brand thrives openly and Camila resumes her career with Tim's full support. Danny heads a new IT unit that modernizes the business and Nnenna is welcomed as a daughter in law. Chief still gruff eats his wife's food with pride and joins the viral marketing push for her restaurant. Danny and Nnenna plan their wedding.
