A Tale Of Silent Sisters

In A Tale of Silent Sisters, a childhood memory shows young Elizabeth watching a glowing figure hover over infant Toluwa's crib, a moment she later wonders was the legendary Arabambi, an angel said to bless a newborn once a century. Years later the sisters live under their father's strict roof where tradition dictates the elder must always receive first. Felix, a businessman from Anambra, loses his way searching for an orphanage and meets Elizabeth before returning with gifts that settle on Toluwa. Their father Baba Toluwa insists on protocol, demanding Elizabeth take the head of the fish and the first honor, yet Felix declares his heart chose Toluwa before he reached their gate. After a tense interrogation the father grants conditional permission, requiring Felix to prove his intentions through actions not gifts. Felix courts Toluwa with tenderness, offering picnics and a necklace before proposing, and she accepts. A flashback shows the father once pressured teenage Toluwa to surrender Felix to Elizabeth, arguing the elder sister has been unlucky in love while Toluwa has her whole life ahead. Toluwa agrees because she loves her sister more, and Felix marries Elizabeth in a quiet ceremony witnessed by their ailing grandmother. Elizabeth's past resurfaces when her volatile ex-boyfriend Kola turns abusive, attacking Toluwa in a jealous rage over Felix's generosity. Felix intervenes violently and saves Toluwa, resulting in Kola's arrest. The sisters recover under one roof while Elizabeth carries Felix's child and Toluwa heals from bruises, and Felix dotes on both though his eyes linger on Toluwa. The turning point arrives when Elizabeth, heavily pregnant, overhears Felix confessing his enduring love to Toluwa in the garden. She confronts him in their bedroom, shattering under the realization that their marriage was orchestrated by her sister's sacrifice and her father's manipulation.
