Bryan Nonso Okoye, professionally known as Bryan Boomba or Bryan Bombastiq, was born in Jos, Nigeria, but hails from Idemili-North in Anambra State. He grew up in Nigeria and developed an early interest in music and performance from a young age. Influenced by Jamaican reggae and dancehall culture, he often incorporated energetic performances and Jamaican Patois into his stage presence, which contributed to the evolution of his nickname "Boomba" (derived from "Bombastic," symbolizing explosive energy and impact). He attended St. Gregory’s College in Lagos for his secondary education. His passion for the arts led him to pursue formal training as a classically trained actor. After university, he attended a French institute to learn French, initially considering a career in diplomacy. He is a polyglot, fluent in English, Igbo (his mother tongue), Pidgin, French, and Jamaican Patois, which he acquired through cultural exposure, YouTube, Jamaican friends, and immersion.
