My Husband's Sister

In My Husband's Sister, Joseph lives with his wife Ngozi and his sister Justina, and Justina belittles Ngozi every day. She mocks Ngozi for not having children and criticizes her cooking. Joseph always takes Justina's side and demands Ngozi apologize for small things. Ngozi endures verbal abuse and financial control because she is treated like a servant. Her contributions are dismissed, so she confides in her friend Anita. Anita introduces her to AI content creation, and Ngozi also starts selling clothes to gain independence. Justina physically assaults Ngozi and frames her, leading Joseph to threaten eviction. Ngozi finds a housekeeping job with a widower and his daughter who treat her with respect. She discovers she is good at chemistry and cooking while her AI modeling work begins to pay well. She gains financial autonomy, but Joseph ignores his friend's warning that his behavior will drive her away. On Ngozi's birthday Justina blocks her from leaving for work and mocks her salary. A physical fight starts and Joseph interrupts them. Ngozi confronts them with the truth that she pays the rent and the house belongs to her. She orders Joseph and Justina to leave that night. Justina packs her bags while Joseph realizes the tables have turned and tries to negotiate. Ngozi stands firm and reveals her husband did not acknowledge her birthday while strangers celebrated her instead. Ngozi moves in with a supportive friend and plans to travel to Kenya. She returns her bride price to formally end the marriage. She visits her former employer to say goodbye, and the widower confesses romantic interest. Ngozi asks for time to rediscover herself. The film closes with Ngozi embraced by her friend, the widower, and his daughter as they stand together.
