Storyline
The movie follows Ejiro, a woman who was tragically married off into traditional displacement at the tender age of 16. Now in her thirties, she returns to her home territory broken, widowed, and burdened with the care of two young daughters for whom she harbors grand, ambitious dreams. Feeling cornered by systemic poverty and traditional constraints, Ejiro enters a second marriage with Osato, a local lorry driver who promises to financially secure her family and pay for her girls' education. However, this transaction comes with a dark condition: Osato demands a male heir. When Ejiro is unable to conceive a son, Osato’s entitlement quickly transforms him into a domestic terror. Trapped in an unbearable nightmare, Ejiro begins yearning for the absolute freedom she last felt as an innocent child. Simultaneously, her oldest daughter Ejaita, a brilliant 16-year-old aspiring to study medicine, continuously rebels against her mother's hyper-protective rules, completely unaware of the extreme personal abuse and trauma her mother is enduring behind closed doors to keep her in school.
