EARLY LIFE

Philip Asaya was born into a Christian Nigerian family. Growing up in the early 90s, he would tell stories to his younger siblings when their TV was broken, and was often a drama leader in church. He hails from Edo State, Nigeria, and is a Benin man.

CAREER

Philip Asaya is a multi-talented Nigerian artist, known as a poet, Nollywood actor, and spoken word poetry artist. He serves as a concept developer, scriptwriter, and story developer at Hand and Screen, Tellit Pictures, and Philip Asaya's Creation. He is the founder of The Mannequin Mode and the organizer of the poetry event SIO. His acting career began with his lead role as Cali Iwinosa in the Africa Magic TV series 'Enakhe' (2020-2021). He has also featured in films such as 'Cake' (2022), 'Slum King' (2023), and played the titular role in 'Kill Boro' (2024). Upcoming projects include 'Son of the Soil' (2025), 'The Screen Test' (2025), 'Suky' (2025), 'About Time' (2025), and 'Uriri' (2024-2025). He is also recognized as a Web3 expert.
