Awele and Daniel meet on a blind date arranged through a dating app where a mix-up over profile photos leads to an awkward but charming first encounter. They bond over a shared love for the sitcom Friends and their connection deepens into marriage and a daughter named Lulu. Awele's demanding career and fertility struggles sit alongside Daniel's quiet devotion, and her mother's declining health adds pressure. Unbeknownst to Awele, Daniel has already filed for divorce driven by a deep-seated fear that she will abandon him just as his own mother left his father years earlier. The fragile equilibrium shatters when Awele, driving with Lulu, suffers a catastrophic car accident. Lulu dies instantly and Awele survives with a traumatic brain injury that leaves her with selective amnesia, her memory frozen three years in the past.
