Storyline
Ronke and her daughter Mena wake early on Father's Day to surprise Ronke's husband with a gift, but they find him dead in his sleep. Mena becomes selectively mute, and therapy sessions do not help her speak. Ronke struggles with her own grief and her daughter's silence while applying for a postgraduate scholarship. At a supermarket, Mena accidentally runs into a stranger named Kene and breaks a bottle, and his harsh reaction leaves a bad impression. Kene later returns Ronke's lost wallet to her home, and the two begin an uneasy but growing acquaintance. Kene and Ronke keep crossing paths, and despite Ronke's insistence that she is not ready to date, they gradually form a genuine connection. Kene is patient with Mena and gives her gifts, and Ronke starts to open up about her late husband. During a dinner at Kene's home, Mena falls asleep, and as he carries her to bed, she whispers 'Goodnight, Mommy,' her first words in two years. Ronke is overjoyed, but the breakthrough deepens her fear of losing someone again. When Kene reveals that he has been living with a brain tumor for six months and hid it from her, Ronke feels betrayed. His health declines, and doctors tell him the tumor is growing and surgery is urgent. Kene is hospitalized with a lung infection that requires intubation and a medically induced coma. Ronke is terrified because her healthy husband died without warning at a young age. The doctors perform a risky operation with a 50-50 chance of survival, and Ronke waits in anguish. After the surgery, they deliver good news: the tumor is removed and the infection treated. Kene awakens and slowly recovers, and Mena, who now speaks more, welcomes him home with a hug. As Kene recuperates, he asks Mena for her blessing to marry her mother, and she joyfully agrees. He then kneels and proposes to Ronke, who accepts, and the three embrace while he whispers his love.
