The movie What The Heart Hides shows how people's lives get mixed through pain, secrets and bad choices. It opens with Prince visiting a pregnant woman angrily. He blames her because his brother is in prison for killing his best friend over her. Lydia, manager of Timeless Suites hotel, comes to work with a black eye. She says she hit it on a door, but others think her husband beats her. Nosa is upset with his mother over high rent for an apartment her boyfriend will share. When friends gather, Prince shares how he caught his fiancée kissing another man on the night he wanted to propose. Nosa talks about his breakup with Brooklyn. Nosa later sees a man beating Lydia on the stairs. He stops it and offers help with police and a lawyer, but scared Lydia begs him not to call anyone. Nosa’s problems grow when he returns home to find it empty. Osato, the village girl his mother sent to stay with him, has run away with all his money, shoes and jewelry. His mother calls to say Osato’s family accuses Nosa of money rituals and demands 50 million Naira plus items as fine. He realizes he was scammed. Prince grows close to Lydia. He takes her to a fancy restaurant, but the waiter is the man who kissed Prince’s ex-fiancée. Prince gets upset and ends the date quickly. In a dark scene, a police officer drives Lydia’s attacker to a house at night. The man knocks, and when the pregnant woman opens the door, he points a gun at her. The story ends with Prince and Lydia talking late at night in a parking lot. Prince tells her home is where you feel safe, not a building. He apologizes, but she walks away, leaving him by his car making a call. The film explores abuse, scams, broken trust and hidden truths that hurt the heart.
