Olivia, a fashion executive, returns to the city and asks her assistant Karen about a photographer recruitment link. In The Lens of Love, Ethan Johnson runs Chronic Studios with his partner Sam and uses women at will. He promises Grace, an admirer, a promotional shoot, then turns to a photogenic woman, flies her to Abuja, and after dropping her at her building, he blocks all contact. When she confronts him, he dismisses the fling, and Sam warns him not to jeopardise the Preston account. One evening, Olivia books an after-hours shoot, accepts Ethan's high price, and asks to continue at his apartment. They start a no-commitment affair. Olivia sends him a large gift, and Sam notes she is stunning and that this feels different for Ethan. The Preston proposal he and Sam struggled to land goes through. At a celebration dinner, Mr. Preston announces their agency will cover his wedding, then introduces Olivia as his fiancée. Ethan drinks heavily and tells Sam he broke his no-commitment rule and fell for someone he cannot have. Olivia appears at his home to apologise. Ethan begs her to run away with him, but she refuses because she is marrying someone else, and what they had is over. He drinks alone until Sam finds him and talks him out of it. Ethan learns Olivia submitted the winning proposal and secured extra Preston work. He visits her office to thank her, and she reveals she slept with him as revenge for her fiancé's affair, but sex cannot build a lasting relationship. She loves her fiancé, owes Ethan nothing, and leaves for the United States to focus on her label. Ethan says goodbye. At Chronic Studios, Sam and the staff welcome him back to the expanding business.
