Friends From School

Amara arrives at Phoenix High determined to reinvent herself after years of bullying, but a classmate immediately mocks her appearance. She confides in her best friend Fifi, and the pair target the TDL, the school's elite clique led by Bella, Oma, and Shade. At a campfire initiation Bella forces them to drink bitter leaf juice, reveal secrets, and orders Fifi to slap Amara three times. When Amara refuses to prank-call her father with a fake pregnancy announcement, Bella disqualifies her but welcomes Fifi into the group, and this leaves Amara devastated and alone on the streets that night. She meets Fola, a quiet classmate who offers kindness and walks her home, and they bond over family pressures — her mother's death, his mother's bipolar disorder — and form a tentative friendship. Bella later approaches Amara with a second chance: complete four tasks to join the TDL. The first task, stealing an asthmatic classmate's inhaler, results in a near-fatal asthma attack in class though Amara hesitates at the last moment. The second task, shutting down the school's power supply, turns catastrophic when Bella has secretly tampered with the wiring, an explosion erupts and leaves Fifi unconscious and hospitalized. Amara is questioned by authorities but realizes the TDL manipulated her into taking the blame. Consumed by guilt and rage, Amara vows to dismantle the TDL and enlists Grace, a tech-savvy student, to hack Oma's phone for evidence of the group's crimes. Meanwhile Bella frames another TDL member Shadi for drug possession, and Amara discovers Fola had a past secret relationship with Bella, a discovery that deepens her sense of betrayal. Confrontations intensify: Amara accuses the TDL of orchestrating Fifi's injury, the principal expels a student during the chaos, and Fola pleads with Amara to stop her revenge spiral and warns that she is becoming unrecognizable.
