ALABOSI (The Hypocrite)

Auntie Bose, a generous woman in a Lagos slum, drives a tricycle and helps those around her despite poverty. In ALABOSI (The Hypocrite), she offers shelter to NYSC member Tomi after meeting her at a health outreach. Their bond strengthens when Bose reveals her childlessness led to her husband's second marriage, and she continues supporting Tomi and her fellow NYSC member Miracle. Neighbors Rasheedah and Julie mock Bose, calling her a hypocrite, but she persists. When her neighbor's daughter, Bisi, suffers a convulsion, the hospital demands a deposit before treatment. Bose takes a 50,000 Naira loan from Mr. Martins, using her tricycle as collateral, and pays for Bisi's care. After missing the repayment deadline, Mr. Martins' associates threaten to seize her tricycle within three days. Desperate, Bose asks Bisi's mother for help but is turned away. After Bose's tricycle is seized by Mr. Martins and his associate, she goes to meet her friend, Sade, and asks for a job. Sade agrees to employ her, and Bose begins helping to wash dirty dishes. Miracle invites Bose to meet her wealthy mother, who thanks Bose for instilling good values in her daughter and gives Bose 7 million Naira as a gift. Overwhelmed by the generosity, Bose faints and collapses. The gift resolves her financial crisis and secures her tricycle.
