Abdullateef Adetola Adedimeji, known professionally as Lateef Adedimeji, was born on February 1, 1984, in Isolo, Lagos State, Nigeria, though he is of Yoruba descent with roots in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He grew up in Lagos, Lagos, where he discovered his passion for performance through dancing and school plays, earning early recognition as a talented actor during secondary school. He began his education at Ire Akari Primary School, Isolo, and later attended Ilamoye Grammar School, Okota, Lagos. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Lateef Adedimeji is a prominent Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, director, and brand ambassador, widely celebrated in Yoruba Nollywood for his emotional depth and versatility, earning him the nickname "Crying Machine." He began his professional career in 2007 after training in dance and joining Orisun TV, initially working on NGO projects related to HIV/AIDS awareness and human rights content.
