Lateef Adedimeji is a prominent Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, director, and brand ambassador, widely celebrated in Yoruba Nollywood for his emotional depth and versatility, earning him the nickname "Crying Machine." He began his professional career in 2007 after training in dance and joining Orisun TV, initially working on NGO projects related to HIV/AIDS awareness and human rights content. His breakthrough came in 2013 with the lead role in Yewande Adekoya's Kudi Klepto. He has since appeared in over 100 films, including standout performances in Ayinla (2021) as the titular character, Jagun Jagun (2023) as Gbotija, Aníkúlápó: The Rise of the Spectre (2024) as Awolaran, and as producer/star in the epic Lisabi: The Uprising (2024) as Lisabi Agbongbo Akala. EARLY LIFE

Lateef Adedimeji was born on 1 February 1984 in Isolo, Lagos State, southwestern Nigeria. He is a native of Abeokuta in Ogun State. He attended Ire Akari Primary School in Isolo for his primary education and Ilamoye Grammar School in Okota, Lagos, for secondary school. From a young age he showed interest in performance; he began acting while still in secondary school, started with dancing, and enrolled in a dancing school. He also participated in an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign through a Non-Governmental Organisation, where he created educational video content on sexual health and human rights.
