EARLY LIFE

Yetunde Ogunlade is a native of Abeokuta in Ogun State, Nigeria. She was born into a highly religious Muslim family and is the fifth child in a family of nine (two boys and five girls). She received her primary and secondary education in the Agege area of Lagos State. She later graduated with a degree in Accounting from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta. Acting has been her passion and calling since childhood, encouraged by her parents and those around her. She officially entered the Nollywood industry over 12 years ago through ace actor and producer Segun Akanni Ogungbe (Segun Ogungbe), who played a major role in her breakthrough. Her first appearance in a home video was a joyful moment celebrated by her family and friends.

CAREER

Yetunde Ogunlade is a professional Nollywood actress and producer with over 12 years of active experience in the industry. She has featured in more than 70 movies and has starred in several. She made her mark through consistent hard work, strong script interpretation, and versatility. Her breakthrough came through Segun Ogungbe, and she has since worked with top names in both Yoruba and English-speaking sectors of Nollywood. Notable Acting Credits Include, Ìrètè: The Reckoning (2026), Scum (2023), Photographer (2018), Eru Owo (2017), Agbomabiwon (2016), Akoto Olokada (2009), Ibi Giga, Odun Ayomi, Ota Mokanla, Omo Odede, Berubajoba, Farapamo, Ilu Awon Oku, Farikanla, and many others. As a producer, she made her debut with Adisa Jigan in 2014, fully packaged and directed by Segun Ogungbe. The star-studded cast included Kayode Akindina, Segun Ogungbe, Odunlade Adekola, Alhaja Fausat Balogun (Madam Saje), and Kemi Afolabi. Her second production was Agbeke Onikele in 2016. She was also developing a major project valued at around five million naira featuring top stars such as Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Segun Ogungbe, Faithia Balogun, Ninalowo, Gabriel Afolayan, and Kunle Afolayan, with high-quality crew, equipment, and multiple locations. She describes her role in Agbeke Onikele as one of her most challenging yet rewarding, earning praise from her director who told her she was “going places.” She believes success in the industry comes from talent, script interpretation, hard work, and creativity — not caucuses, complexion, or money. She has been vocal about the need for merit-based awards and has criticized platforms that sell awards to the highest bidder. She is open to any role the script demands (including half-naked scenes) if it serves the story truthfully, viewing acting as “make believe.”

PERSONAL LIFE

Yetunde Ogunlade is married and has a daughter. She maintains a respectful and professional relationship with colleagues in the industry. After getting married, she has experienced greater respect from seniors and colleagues, who honor her marital status. She has never been approached with “sex for role” offers after marriage, crediting her close, sibling-like relationships with colleagues and the guidance she received from Segun Ogungbe. She comes from a close-knit family; in 2024, she and her siblings held a Fidau prayer for their late mother, Madam Fasilat Atoke Ogunlade. She is known to be vocal, courageous, and deeply spiritual, often crediting her faith in God for helping her navigate challenges in her career and personal life. She runs a separate business alongside acting to support her livelihood.
