Mimi, a bright student from a modest background, lives with her mother Bernice, who works as a maid for the wealthy Kalu family. The Kalus sponsor Mimi's education at Hudson College for her WAEC exams. On her first day, Mimi befriends Ladi and catches the attention of the popular and intelligent Alex, which immediately provokes Joan, the Kalus' spoiled daughter. Joan warns Mimi to stay away from Alex and begins a campaign of bullying. She spreads lies by showing her parents a manipulated photo to make Mimi appear promiscuous, leading to Mimi being scolded and threatened with expulsion from the Kalu home. Joan then manipulates Ladi, recording her venting about Mimi and blackmailing her into pushing Mimi down the stairs. Mimi is injured but downplays the accident to avoid further conflict. Joan's jealousy escalates as she plots to have Mimi kidnapped and sold to human traffickers. During a phone call with Ladi, masked men abduct Mimi and hold her captive. When Mimi fails to return home, Bernice panics, and Ladi, overwhelmed with guilt, reports the kidnapping to the school principal and police. Detective Omar investigates and, during questioning, discovers incriminating phone records on Joan's phone. Under pressure, Joan confesses to orchestrating the kidnapping, revealing that the traffickers rejected Mimi because she fell ill. Joan is arrested and taken away in handcuffs as her mother watches in horror. Mimi is found alive and taken to the hospital. She forgives Ladi for her role in the plot, and Ladi assists in her recovery. The Kalu family apologizes to Mimi and Bernice, acknowledging their daughter's crimes. Meanwhile, Mimi and Alex, who supported each other through the ordeal, both gain admission to the same university. They celebrate together, looking forward to a bright future.
