Elma wakes early to cut fruit, pack lunches, and put her two daughters on the school bus while baby Winston waits. When the house is empty, she collapses. Ralph's boss complains about his performance, and his colleague June tells him to fight for his marriage. Ralph visits Janet, who has been caring for the children, and pleads to see Elma, but Janet refuses and tells him to leave. Dara appears at Ralph's office and presses him about his distance, and Ralph tells her he is tired of living a lie. He says he loves Elma and needs to make things right, ending the affair, and Dara leaves hurt. Ralph records an emotional apology and asks Elma to return.
