Thirty To Thirty One

Genevieve, owner of an electrical company, hires Desmond as her executive assistant. Despite a strict policy against workplace relationships, they develop a mutual attraction and begin a secret romance. Genevieve confides in her friend Sam about her feelings but hesitates due to their professional dynamic and age difference. When Desmond proposes, she accepts, but their joy is short-lived. Desmond's mother, Diana, visits and immediately opposes the relationship, viewing Genevieve as too old and successful. Diana insists Genevieve transfer her company to Desmond to preserve his manhood, leading to a tense confrontation where she insults Genevieve, calling her an 'expired product.' Genevieve defends herself, but Desmond demands she apologize to his mother. She refuses, and Desmond breaks up with her, resigning from his job. Genevieve is devastated, struggling to move on. Meanwhile, Diana's daughter Cheluchi confronts her mother about her bitterness and controlling behavior, pointing out that her sacrifices have made her resentful. Desmond initially resists reconciliation, but his sister Lucy convinces him to reconsider. He talks to his mother, apologizing for his past actions but making clear he loves Genevieve and wants her blessing. Diana reflects and admits she was wrong, apologizing to Desmond. Desmond goes to Genevieve's house to seek a second chance. He apologizes for his behavior and asks her to try again. Despite initial hesitation, Genevieve confesses she still loves him. They reconcile and embrace, deciding to work things out. The film ends with the couple reunited and Diana accepting their relationship.
