The Almajiri
The Almajiri is a moving, heartfelt drama centered on a highly gifted boy trapped within the rigid structures of the almajiri system in Northern Nigeria. Harbouring a seemingly impossible dream of defying poverty and social expectations to become a tech engineer, his future hangs precariously in the balance. Set against the atmospheric backdrops of Kano and Abuja, the film follows his courage, resilience, and grueling fight for education against systemic and societal obstacles that offer little to no support for his aspirations.

Storyline
Unlike other films that lean strictly into the dark underworld of trafficking or crime syndicates, this project approaches the subject matter through the lens of human potential, individual agency, and hope.
