Princess Alicia

Princess Alicia, the late king's only child, returns from fifteen years in the United Kingdom to claim her father's throne, only to be told by her mother, the Queen, that a woman cannot rule. The Queen announces that Ekene, a crown prince from a rival family, will be crowned. Alicia refuses to accept this, barring access to the palace on coronation day and later staging a public protest. She meets the eccentric Onowu, who claims to have secrets, and Roland, a persistent suitor, while clashing repeatedly with Ekene. The traditional council grows impatient, and a cholera outbreak ravages the community, forcing Alicia and Ekene to work together. Their reluctant partnership softens their animosity, and they share a kiss, sparking a romance. Jealous Roland conspires with an elder to kidnap Ekene, but he is rescued. It emerges that Roland and the chief priest orchestrated the kidnapping and also stole the sacred staff of authority, framing Alicia for the theft. The culprits are arrested, and the staff is recovered. Alicia realizes that true leadership requires peace over ambition, steps down from her claim, and declares she wants to be Ekene's queen. The elders accept, and Ekene is crowned in a traditional secret ceremony. Alicia stands by his side as the community celebrates their new king and queen.
