My Blood Sisters

An elderly man dies from chest pain as three women rush to help him, introducing the three sisters at the heart of "My Blood Sisters". Already burdened by their mother's illness and financial strain, the sisters sell bread on the streets and argue over their misfortunes. Their father then enters and also collapses from chest pain, dying in their presence. Overwhelmed with grief, they discuss a plan and soon learn their mother has a brain tumor requiring ten million Naira for surgery, while their landlord demands payment within seven days. Desperate for money, the sisters visit a ritualist who performs incantations over a skull and gives them a black cloth. After covering their sleeping mother with the cloth, a flash of light signals the ritual's success. The sisters then have happy flashbacks but weep uncontrollably beside a bed covered with a black sheet. With the ritualist confirming the sacrifice accepted, cartons of US dollars appear in their home, prompting plans to buy a car, bury their mother, and leave Nigeria. The joy is short-lived, however, as they realize one sister, Eva, is missing. A neighbor denies seeing her, leading them back to the ritualist. Returning to the ritualist, the sisters hear the missing sister took the money and is not willing to share. They are left to confront the horrific cost of their fortune.
