Storyline

Olive Johnson visits divorce lawyer Clem Apaniko, recounting how her husband Brad slapped her and demanded she resign from her job, revealing his insecurity over her higher salary. This physical assault was the culmination of prolonged emotional and psychological abuse. Despite her resolve, Olive faces pressure from her mother and brother, who urge her to stay in the marriage, using her sister Sandra's death from domestic violence as a cautionary tale. Brad, egged on by his friend Max, refuses to sign divorce papers and attempts to manipulate Olive by apologizing and citing her pregnancy, but she remains steadfast. Brad's mother initially comes to plead but later supports Olive, confronting her son and condemning his actions, insisting he sign the papers to free Olive. At the lawyer's office, Brad reluctantly agrees, and the couple finalizes their divorce, after which Olive experiences an emotional breakdown in the restroom. Following the separation, Brad asks Olive to take care of herself and their unborn child, and she drives away, reflecting on her journey toward independence and the end of her toxic marriage, a narrative that underscores how 'Love Is Not Enough' to sustain a relationship marred by abuse.
