Storyline
Kaine Ogochukwu walks away from her desk at the ad agency and into a world that calls her a fool. Her boyfriend Ejiro spits venom, calling acting prostitution, but she kicks him out and signs up for Estelle Richard's acting class. There she meets Ekom, a theater arts graduate with a smile that lingers longer than necessary. He helps her rehearse, he cheers her on, even when a tiny role gets cut to a background walk leaving her bruised. Ejiro returns with promises of funding, but Kaine shuts that door. Then her ex Ajiro sends tickets to Cape Verde and she boards the plane without a word to Ekom. When Ekom finds out, the hurt in his eyes cuts deeper than any rejection she faced. He leaves her standing in the silence of her own making. Kaine swallows her pride and goes to him, confessing her love and her wrong. Meanwhile a reality game show she applied for calls her name. During a televised confessional she looks straight into the camera and apologizes to Ekom, her voice trembling but clear. Watching from his sofa, Ekom feels the crack in his chest heal. He starts campaigning for her to win, his love louder than his pain. Four weeks later he shows up with a necklace and a plane ticket to Rwanda — the very place he promised to take her. Kaine laughs and cries, says she will fly economy just to be with him. They hold each other and the story settles into a quiet beat of two people who chose each other over every voice that told them no.
