Boss Man

In Boss Man, Michael arrives in Lagos to take over his father's real estate firm FS Realty, stepping out of a G-Wagon late on his first morning to meet staff members Nne and Seina. Seina does not hide her irritation at his tardiness, and she pulls him along on a site inspection where he closes a deal with a local contractor. That evening he sits down with his parents Chief and Mrs. Adebaye, talking through the day and noting Seina's warmth. Across town, longtime employee Zainab takes a call from the Chief that hints at his failing health, and not long after the Chief collapses at home, critically ill. The crisis pushes Michael to the edge, and when Zainab makes a sharp remark about his work ethic he fires her on impulse. The Chief, recovering but frail, steps in and offers Zainab a partnership in FS Realty to launch her own short-let apartment chain, praising her dedication. Michael later finds Zainab outside and confesses he fired her because he liked her and feared rejection, but she rebukes him for the unprofessional stunt. Soon after, Zainab discovers she is pregnant, and Michael shows up at her door at 5 AM in a panic before he settles into a full commitment, declaring his love and his desire to build a family with her. Michael forces a confrontation by bundling Zainab into his car, and they argue heatedly about the pregnancy and his earlier abandonment fears. He asserts the child is his, confesses his love, and vows to be all in whether she is pregnant or not, and they seal the reconciliation with a passionate kiss. Zainab accepts his commitment and teases that he is now stuck with her. Six months later a garden party celebrates the impending arrival, with both families gathered and the Chief responding well to new treatment as he jokes about not kicking the bucket anytime soon.
