Debbie, a fashion editor at Chic Express, lives in a strained long-distance relationship with Michael, who is in Abuja. Encouraged by her friend Anna, she travels to Lagos to mend things, but upon arrival, Michael is absent, leaving her frustrated. At a club, she meets Jules, a charming music producer, and they instantly connect. Debbie and Jules grow closer, spending time together, while her calls to Michael become colder. Anna warns her against rushing, but Debbie is smitten, and her affair with Jules deepens. Back To December follows Debbie as she juggles her failing relationship with Michael and her growing feelings for Jules. Michael, suspicious, confronts her, leading to heated arguments. Meanwhile, Debbie faces career rejection but Jules inspires her to appreciate her local work. The secret eventually surfaces, and Michael discovers the truth. In a violent climax, Jules arrives at Michael's house to confess his love. Michael attacks him, beating him in front of Debbie. As Jules lies bruised on the ground, he professes his love and asks Debbie to choose him. Moved, she acknowledges her feelings, and they kiss. Jules and Debbie walk away hand in hand, leaving Michael behind. The film closes with a message that love can be found even in chaotic Lagos.
