A Reason To Love

In A Reason To Love, Ogechi is an aspiring singer who gets a call that producer Don Flex loves her song. She celebrates with her mother and moves forward with a record deal beside her cousin-manager Isioma. Dil, a wealthy businessman with a short temper, berates his domestic staff and shows an aggressive, possessive side. His car strikes Ogechi, and she ends up with a serious spinal injury in a wheelchair. Don Flex backs out because he will not work with a singer he dismisses as a crippled pop artist. With hospital bills paid but rehabilitation still out of reach, Isioma brings Ogechi to Dil's home to confront him. Dil orders them off his property, but his father appears on the balcony, learns about the crash, and rebukes Dil for hiding it. The father invites the women inside, hears how the accident cost Ogechi her music career, and promises proper medical care. In his absence, Dil treats them as intruders, mocks Ogechi, keeps her from the television, and moves her wheelchair out of reach so she ends up on the floor. Isioma fights back and will not let Dil bully them, but Ogechi is so uncomfortable that she wants to leave. Then Dil has a health emergency, and the friend he brought in abandons him. Isioma has a bad feeling and checks on him, and she and Ogechi get him to the hospital in time. His father returns and tells Dil that the doctor said he might not have survived if the women had not acted quickly. The father stops Ogechi and Isioma from leaving and promises again to cover the surgeries that could help Ogechi walk. Dil acknowledges how badly he treated them and apologizes. He thanks Ogechi for saving his life, compliments her singing voice, and asks her out. Isioma warns him at the car that Ogechi is precious and anything happening to her will be his responsibility. Dil promises to bring Ogechi back safely, opens the car door for her, and drives off with her.
