In Unusual Love, Michael's mother wakes him and his fiancée Lola in the middle of the night for a prayer session. The next morning, Lola has a promotional interview, but Michael's mother makes her change outfits, so she arrives late. Her boss gives the promotion to someone else and transfers her to Lagos. Lola returns home furious, blames Michael's mother, and breaks off the engagement. Ifeanyi returns from a work trip and suspects his wife Chinelo is cheating. He finds odd items and an unexplained story about a visitor. When he confronts her, Chinelo admits she brought another man into their home. Ifeanyi orders her out. That same night, Lola is stranded in Lagos and cannot find a hotel room. She meets Ifeanyi at a bar. They share their painful stories, drink together, and end up spending the night together. The next morning, Ifeanyi returns her earring and they part with an embrace. Lola starts her new job and sleeps in the office after an apartment scam. Ifeanyi is her boss. He finds her there and insists she stay in his guest room. They grow close playing cards, sharing meals, and studying together. After signing divorce papers, Ifeanyi confesses his feelings to Lola when she is injured in a motorcycle accident, and they begin a relationship. Back with Chinelo, Ifeanyi plans a vow renewal but catches Chinelo kissing his best friend Ibrahim in the kitchen. He records it, sends it to Ibrahim's wife, and flies to Lola's house. He says he never stopped loving her, and Lola admits the same. They embrace and kiss, deciding to be together despite the chaos.
