EARLY LIFE
Joseph Momodu was born into the royal family of Oba Momodu II from Etsako-West, Edo State. He spent his early years in a Muslim household and was initially named Abubakar Sadiq Momodu. In 1999, following his father’s conversion to Christianity, he also embraced the Christian faith and adopted the name Joseph Momodu. He was raised mainly in Surulere, Lagos, attending several schools there before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Delta State University in Abraka.
CAREER
Joseph Momodu began acting at the age of nine in church drama groups and continued to nurture his talent through university performances. His professional career started in 2013 with a role in the TV series “Civilian Barracks.” He rose to prominence after appearing in the music video for Simi’s “Joromi.” Since then, he has acted in multiple popular TV series such as “Tinsel,” “Soul Sisters,” and “The Johnsons,” as well as numerous Nollywood films. Besides acting, he runs an international fashion brand called JS Couture. Recently, he auditioned for a Tyler Perry production, demonstrating aspirations to expand internationally.
PERSONAL LIFE
Joseph Momodu keeps a low profile regarding his personal life. He is currently single and has no children. His transition from Islam to Christianity marked a significant spiritual turning point. Known for his professionalism, he maintains respectful boundaries with fans and values his private life despite his public appeal.
