Married To A Mirage

Nancy is an internal auditor in the movie Married To A Mirage. She celebrates her promotion at a nightclub and meets Kene. He is a charming real estate man. They start dating fast. Kene gives her a cheque of 2.6 million Naira as thanks for a contract. He asks her to give him money for a big business deal with investors. Nancy agrees because she trusts him. Her friend Titi sees Kene with another woman and shows Nancy a bank alert. The alert proves Kene got double the money he told her about. Titi says Kene is a fraud and Nancy must leave him. When Kene comes home Nancy confronts him about the woman and the lies. Kene lies to her. He says the woman is only a colleague and the money is for her bride price. Then he proposes marriage on the spot. Nancy feels confused but she accepts the ring. They get married. After three months Kene asks for 1.2 million Naira to pay his son's school fees. Nancy is shocked because she did not know he had a child. Later she finds out he has an ex-wife and another child too. Kene does not pay for the house or bills. Nancy pays rent hospital bills and everything. She gets pregnant and gives birth to a baby boy. Seven months later Nancy has no savings left. She asks Kene to start paying some money. He gets angry and asks her for 200,000 Naira instead. Nancy is tired and says no. Then she searches Kene's things and finds old receipts. He used all her money to buy their house but put the house in another woman's name. She also finds a list for another marriage. Nancy confronts Kene with the proof. He stops pretending. He says he only used her for money and the house is for the other woman. He has no sorry. He packs his bags and leaves her. Nancy is very sad and broken. Her mother comes to comfort her but Nancy shouts at her mother. She blames the mother for saying she must endure the marriage because of the ring. The mother now feels bad. Nancy sits alone with her baby completely shattered by the betrayal.
