Unexpected Romance

Obi, a young assistant at a corporate firm, lives with Clara, an aspiring content creator who pressures him for money and asks for a new wig. That evening she hits him with the wig and switches off his alarm, leaving him to report for work exhausted. His boss Kike, a demanding managing director, berates him for being late and questions his productivity. Obi wins a major contract with an impromptu presentation, and Kike commends him and takes him for drinks, while her visiting friend Lola probes whether their relationship is more than professional. Clara keeps demanding money and compares Obi with men who spoil their partners. As Obi's late nights and distractions increase, he and Kike begin a secret affair. Obi suggests moving the relationship out of the office to Kike's home, and Kike agrees to ask Lola, who is staying with her, to leave. Clara notices the shift, cooks his favorite meals, suppresses her complaints, and cannot trust him. When Obi tells Kike that Clara is unhappy and he cannot continue the relationship, Femi, a man from Kike's past who once stole her innocence and her money, arrives at the house demanding a share of the company. Obi stands up to Femi, and Femi leaves with a threat. Kike then breaks down and confesses that her father pushed her into the relationship with Femi, whose betrayal led her into years of self-destructive behavior. Obi comforts Kike and admits that he genuinely likes her. Clara discovers the affair and storms into Kike's office, insulting Kike and accusing her of using her position to steal Obi. Kike stays calm and tells Obi what happened. Clara confronts Obi at home and asks whether he is leaving her for his boss. Obi states that the relationship is over because he needs peace and genuine respect, not confrontation. Clara changes the locks and screams at him to leave. Obi has been wrestling with guilt and has applied for other jobs, so he tells Kike.
