Wealthy and embittered after her husband Nelson made off with her fortune, Erica, in the story known as Twisted Feelings, took out her rage on the men she employed, from security guard Precious to anyone she perceived as beneath her. Though she treated her maid Tega with comparative kindness, household tension mounted when Tega’s brother Kelechi arrived for a job interview and Erica refused to host him—relenting only on the condition that he work as a cleaner and endure her constant insults. As Kelechi suffered the abuse, Tega worried about Erica’s drinking, unaware that a worse danger was brewing. Erica’s friend Oge, who appeared supportive, was secretly planting illegal drugs inside the house and tipping off the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Kelechi, overhearing Oge on the phone discussing the frame-up, searched her room and found the stash hidden in the toilet. With officers pounding on the door, he fought to flush the drugs down the drain, succeeding just in time to leave the raid empty-handed and Erica bewildered but free. Grateful and shaken, Erica listened as Tega and Precious confirmed that Oge had been in the house at the critical hour. When Oge returned to collect property documents, Erica confronted her directly, and Oge crumbled, admitting she had acted on behalf of a man named Pius who wanted revenge for Erica’s romantic rejection. The revelation struck harder than any blow from Nelson: the person who nearly destroyed her was a woman she trusted. Erica called the police, and Oge was arrested, facing justice. In the aftermath, Erica turned to Kelechi and Precious with a humility they had never seen. She apologized to Kelechi for the cruelty she had directed at him and every man she had lashed out at, explaining that Nelson’s abandonment had poisoned her view of an entire gender—an admission she knew did not excuse her behavior. She also made amends with Precious, raising his salary and offering him a gift.
